We were delighted that Marty Morrissey kept his promise and visited our GAA winning team. Congrats again to our wonderful girls. Children in 4th class had to design a structure to prevent an egg from cracking when it is dropped from a height. 4th classes had a great day trying out the wonderful facilities at the Tallaght Track. This years theme is Space. Thank you to all the pupils who contributed wonderful pieces of art to promote biodiversity in our school. The author and illustrator Alan Nolan gave a workshop to the 4th classes as part of Scoil Maelruain’s Creative Week. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed it. The children got to draw pictures and listen to Alan read from his lastest book “The Sackville Street Caper” Mrs. J O Reilly and Ms. Cullivan’s classes did a tour of Tallaght. The Scoil Maelruain boys and girls basketball teams travelled to the Basketball Arena to take part in a basketball tournament in May. Ms. Cullivan’s 4th class were very lucky to have the opportunity to take part in an Outdoor Learning lesson with Paul O Donnell. Paul has written a book called Wild Teaching. The children got to plant oak trees and sweet peas. They also learned how nests are made and had the chance to make one. |
