Scoil Maelruain Credit Union Teams.

Well Done to Our Credit Union Teams for 2014.  They represented our school exceptionally well and did us all proud.  We had six teams representing Scoil Maelruain.  We would like to thank them all for their hard work.  We would also like to thank our substitutes (Darragh Corcoran and Sean Corcoran) who were on hand if we needed them!

Look at all the talent in Scoil Maelruain Senior!

On the 8th of April we held our annual talent show. Acts from all 5th and 6th classes took part. Planning for the show had been taking place over the last number of weeks under the direction of Ms McHugh. After all their preparation the standard of the acts was extremely high. The show was a huge success and the competition was tight. After much deliberation by our judges (Ms M Murphy, Ms Biesty and past pupil Scott Eccles) the winners were announced.

And the winners are ……

1st place – Thelmar Chanakira

2nd place – Kacey O’Dowd and Hannah Gilson

Joint 1st place Mileaha McCarton, Siobhán Byrne and Victoria Babilola

Special recognition: The Awesome Crew

A huge thanks to all who took part. Thank you too to our audience, all the parents and grandparents who attended and a special thanks to Ms McHugh, without whose hard work the show would not have been possible.

Our World Awards – 5th Class (Ms. Biesty)

Over the last few weeks we have been learning about education in developing countries around the world as we are taking part in Irish Aid Our World Awards. We designed board games to show how difficult it is for other children around the world to get an education and how Irish Aid can help developing countries educate every child. We presented out project to other classes in the school and then invited them to come and check out our games!

Quiz Team Success 2013

Congratulations to our senior and junior winning quiz teams. Both teams finished in first place at the opening round of the Credit Union Quiz Competition held in the Maldron Hotel.

Trick or Treat for Temple Street

We would like to thank all the children involved and who contributed towards the Trick-or-Treat for Temple Street party which was held on Friday 26th October 2012.

There was tremendous work put into the costumes and the day was a great success, raising €418 for Temple Street Children’s Hospital, a very worthy cause.  We hope that every one enjoyed the day and thank you for your support.

6th Class, Ms. Scully.
