Parents
We are very appreciative of all the support given to the school by various parent groups:
- Our Parents’ Association have been very active this year. In the last month they have organised the Confirmation reception and the sixth class disco. They subsidised Music in the Classroom and the sixth class cycling course. They also contributed towards buses and paid for e-safety talks for the fifth and sixth classes. They also bought beautiful ‘Scoil Maelruain’ hoodies for the teachers involved in sport. Many thanks for your wonderful support.
-
Thanks to the Lotto Committee who organise weekly draws to raise funds for the Junior and Senior Schools.
-
We are also thankful to the volunteers who organise the library and provide a great service to all the pupils of Scoil Maelruain.
Literacy and Numeracy
The staff of Scoil Maelruain engaged with the school self evaluation process again this year and drew up a School Improvement Plan for Numeracy. Our Literacy and Numeracy scores are improving every year. Congratulations to the teachers and the pupils. A summary of the plans are on the school website.

Senior Hurlers
- There was great excitement and joy in St. Anne’s Park in Fairview when we had a comprehensive win in the Cumann na mBunscol semi-final and secured a place in Croke Park, Having suffered many defeats at semi final stage in the past few years it was very emotional. The boys and their coaches, Mr. Moore and Mr. De Paor , showed great commitment and dedication as they prepared for their trip to Croke Park. Unfortunately we were defeated but we all had a great day out. Each of the boys were presented with engraved medals, a lovely memento of the day they represented Scoil Maelruain in Croke Park.
