Hard work is continuing in the school to achieve our Active School Flag with students and teachers working hard to get all students in Scoil Maelruain Snr more active.
Every Tuesday and Thursday morning, classes take part in a short Go Noodle activity for an active brain break between subjects.
Break time Activity “Station Fun” is continuing, and now all classes in the junior block have taken part in some break time exercise.
Ms Biesty’s 4th class have taken part in some orienteering activities in Tymon Park where a permanent orienteering course has been set up. This activity was a great way to link Geography work with a PE active! A number of teachers have taken part in Be Active After School Programme training and are looking forward to setting up a Be Active programme next school year.
Every week members of the Active School committee collect information from their class about who has been active over the weekend and then log it on the Active Achievement notice outside the class door. Have you seen your name there yet?
Keep tuned for more updates on our Active Schools activities.
