March and April in Ms Carty’s 3rd class

Before Easter, we took part in wonderful Seachtain na Gaeilge activities. We attended a Céilí in the halla  and danced our socks off!!  We also took part in a Tráth na gCeist and  Bingo with the other 3rd class children. Bhí an-spóirt againn! We had great fun taking part in our school Skipathon and our sporty twins, Luke and Evan Walsh, achieved the highest number of skips in a row! We were also very excited for Easter and we enjoyed an Easter Egg hunt just before our Easter holidays.

When we came back from our Easter holidays, it was time to learn all about Spring and new life and so we investigated the lifecycle of the frog and the butterfly. We were very lucky that Mr Broderick had brought in some tadpoles for us to observe. We drew the lifecycle of the frog and the butterfly to show how they grow and change. We also attended an Eco-week workshop in Tallaght library with Dale from RTE2, who taught us all about Bats, butterflies, bees and our backgardens. We had a great chance to examine all kinds of insects up close in bug viewers! It was such a lovely day that we popped into the playground on the way back to have some well earned fun.

We were very lucky this month as 3rd class had the opportunity to attend a Fire Safety talk with real firefighters. They taught us all about fire safety in our home and how to plan our escape routes in case of a fire. Everyone really enjoyed the talk and we received Fire Safety packs to take home too.

Here are the photos of our busy lives in 3rd class.
