February was a busy month for our class. We attended an Engineers Week workshop in Tallaght Stadium where we met real life engineers and even got to try some experiments. We were very busy creating lovely Valentines Art for our parents. We were learning about procedural writing in English so we decided to follow a recipe to make tasty Valentines cookies. We wrote our own poems to go with our Valentines cards too!
During our Maths classes, we were learning about symmetrical shapes and 3D shapes. We created symmetrical pictures and we also worked in pairs to construct 3D shapes from card. We even used lollipop sticks and clay to create skeletons of 3D shapes. They took a lot of concentration and hard work.
We learned all about Poland during our Geography lessons. We each chose a different aspect of Poland to study for our projects. Some of us worked in pairs and some worked as individuals to research and create our projects. We put a lot of hard work, time and effort into our projects. It was all worth it though when we celebrated at the end of the month with our Polish Day! We were so happy that Ms Ryan and Ms O ‘Reilly’s classes visited us to taste some delicious Polish food. We were so proud of our hard work that our parents were invited to come and see our projects in our class. We had a wonderful afternoon with our parents showing off our new knowledge of Poland. We would like to thank all of the parents that came to our Polish day!!
