Well done to all the boys and girls who did the “Laps For Laptops” sponsored walk . We have raised an amazing €2,805 euro to date!!! Thanks to Mr. Broderick who led our walk. We are delighted with our new school laptops which we have been using since last year. There are 16 laptops which are stored in a special trolley which can be wheeled from class to class. Many thanks to the Parents’ association who fundraised and provided us with them. We find them really useful in class for publishing written work, researching projects and other areas of interest. We can practice our Maths and Gaeilge skills by playing inteactive games online. Below you can see some children from Ms M Murphy’s class busy typing up spooky stories for Halloween. On the 24th October we had our annual Halloween Fancy Dress and Art competition. We encourage families to get together and make their own costumes and Halloween art. This year we had lots of really original and creative ideas. The school entrance was decorated with fabulous art from all classes. The Fancy Dress competition was one of the best yet with vampires, ghouls, clowns, minions and Minecraft characters and so many other original ideas. Even Bernard and other staff members joined in the fun. We raised money in memory of Christine Kiernan, our school secretary who passed away this time last year. Thanks to all those who supported the cause, the money will go towards St John of God’s Centre and Christine’s son who has special needs. Here below you can see some photos of the Halloween art competition and the Fancy dress winners. Well done to everyone who took part. In learning about blogging and the benefits of it, we have created a class blog where we will post entries regularly including pictures and videos. Check out our blog and you will get a flavour of all the activities we get up to in our classroom! |
