This year Ms S Murphy’s 5th class and Ms Walsh’s 6th class held a cake sale and raffle to raise funds for the St Vincent De Paul. An impressive €1,716.80 was raised. The cheque was presented to Bridie Sweeney of the St Vincent De Paul and we recently received a letter from them acknowledging the children’s contribution to the ongoing work of the charity.
Our Christmas performances were a great success this year. Many factors contributed to the success; all the hard work of the children and their teachers but also the support the children had from an amazing audience on the day.
Thank you to all the families and friends of Scoil Maelruain Senior who came and made the day such an enjoyable one for all involved.
The nativity play this year was performed by Ms J O’Reilly’s third class. All their hard work over the previous months paid off and they gave two great performances for friends and family. Well done!
Many children volunteered to perform a song through sign language. Ms J O’Reilly taught the group the song “Not by might” through music and signing. It was a very memorable and poignant performance.
