5th Class (Ms Biesty) visit the Jeanie Johnston & Hugh Lane Gallery

After learning all about the Potato Famine, we took a trip into town on the Luas to visit the Famine Ship – the Jeanie Johnston- and see what life was like for the people who made the journey to Canada during the Famine times. We had a great guide who showed us around and answered all our questions. Then we went on to the Hugh Lane Gallery to look at the Francis Bacon studio and some paintings by Jack B. Yeats. Despite the bad weather we had a great day out!
